Erik Gatenholm Gatenholm is the cofounder and CEO of CellInk, which makes the Bio-X 3D printer. Unlike most 3D printers, this one doesn't create things out of plastic or metal, but instead out of B.Sc. at Virginia Tech University and an MBA from Gothenburg University. Cellink was founded in 2016 by Erik Gatenholm, the company's chief executive, and Héctor Martinez. They developed and sold the world's first universally compatible bio-ink to simplify bioprinting for academics and pharmaceutical companies who were, at that time, mixing their own biomaterial in-house. Cellink also sells the bioprinters used in the process. Five years ago, bioink was not available commercially, and Erik Gatenholm decided that needed to change.
